GOVERMENT POLICY GIVEN. INDUSTRIAL AND SOCIAL. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Ottawa, Jan. 17. In the speech from the Throne at the opening of Parliament, members were asked to consider policies designed to consolidate and expand Empire trade and agreements to increase world trade generally. The policy of the Government would be to work towards arms reduction, stabilised international economic relations, unemployment and health insurance, improved old-age pensions, and a minimum wage and maximum work week.
