BABY SAVED IN BURNING HOME. CHILD’S CRY WAKENS PARENTS. . By Telegraph—Pi*ess Association. Auckland, Nov. 29. Sounds of their baby choking awakened Mr. A. P. Chamber? and his wife, of Henderson, at 4 o’clock this morping. They discovered the house in flames, and at risk of his life the father rushed in from the sun-porch and snatched the child from its cot in the burning bedroom. He was himself burned, but the child was not injured. A dog in the sun-porch had not awakened to give the alarm. The couple saved only a camp stretcher and a bed from the house, in which they had been resident for only six months.
