More than 10,000 scouts, including a large contingent of New Zealanders, are attending the jamboree, which for the first time is held outside Europe. . The buildings include shops, an administrative block, hospital and operating theatre, dental quarters and a grandstand accommodating 2300. persons. A house adjoining the site has been acquired as a residence for Lord Baden Powell, World Chief Scout. The hospital will be staffed by 50 guiders, 12 of whom are trained, nurses. Overseas scouts will be distributed among camps of Victorians. Two overseas groups will be included in each camp, and this will ensure a friendly welcome to the overseas visitors. The New Zealanders and th'. Japanese are the overseas contingents allotted to No. 5 camp. A party of scout authorities visited the scene this afternoon and expressed satisfaction at the progress of the work.
