CAGE BIRD CLUB
INTEREST AT INGLEWOOD. OTHER CLUBS PROMISE HELP. A meeting of those interested in the formation of a canary club at Inglewood was held on Tuesday evening. The convener, Mr. H. Carter, presided over a very good attendance. Mr. Carter said he had for some time thought bird fanciers in tire Inglewood district should form a club. He had interviewed the New Plymouth and Stratford clubs and they assured him that they would do everything possible to assist the Inglewood club. Mr. Carter read a letter from the New Plymouth club stating it would send a delegation to Inglewood on any suitable date to instruct and help the Inglewood club in any way possible. Mr. Carter also stated that the New Plymouth club had promised that if a bird show were held at Inglewood it would lend the necessary gear- free of charge. Mr. Seabright moved and Mr. Franks seconded that a club be formed and named the Inglewood Canary and Cage Bird Club. The main objects of the club were to buy seed for the birds in the cheapest market possible, to combine and help each other- in difficulties, and assist each other in the breeding of birds, and to run a bird show in conjunction with a horticultural show. It was decided to hold a full meeting next week, when New Plymouth delegates will be invited to attend.
