SALVATION ARMY GATHERING.
YOUNG PEOPLE’S CELEBRATIONS.
At the New Plymouth Salvation Army citadel the final gathering of the Young People’s anniversary celebrations was held last night. Adjutant A. Canty, who presided, presented the prizes. The gathering was in the form of a concert, the programme of which was arranged by Sister Dulcie Cobb, deputy Young People’s sergeant-major. Young People’s Sergeant-Major P. Francis trained the children in singing for the annual celebration. The primary department was under the leadership of Sister T. Stevenson.
The programme of items was: Company song, Sunday school; company song, Sunday school; action song, primary; solo. Dorothy Yardley; recitation, Ivy Frewin; drill, girls; solo, Peggy Thompson; action song, junior girls; dialogue; action song, junior boys; solo, Alona Thompson; dialogue, junior boys and girls; recitation, Doreen. Kahui; dialogue, juniors and teachers; recitation, Dulcie Burrows; company song, Sunday school.
