KELLY IN PUPUKE PLATE KILTOWYN WINS ST. ANDREW’S STEEPLECHASE TO RUBY METEOR. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Takapuna Jockey Club’s spring meeting was concluded at the Ellerslie racecourse to-day in fine weather. lire track was very fast. The totalisator handled £19,603, compared with £21,101 on the second day last year. Tire, total for the meeting was £44,759 10s, against £42,956, an increase of £lBO3 10s. Armacourt was first out from Dubarry, Gay Acre and Eudorace. Dubarry led from Gay Acre; Armacourt and Persian Lady at the turn and won comfortably. Velocipede came up from the mar to gain second place, beating Armacourt 10 yards from home. Persian Lady was fourth.

At the turn Kiltowyn began to creep’up and was first home in a great finish, just gaining the decision over Carfex. Killadar was a good third and Caliente fourth; Half a head; three-quarters of a length. Time, Im 375. NGATARINGA STEEPLECHASE. Of £225. Absent led for most of the journey, while Capella Abbey and Copey were always handy. Absent led down the incline for home, but Ruby Meteor ran up from third to clinch the victory by two lengths from Copey, with Absent a similar distance away third. Luminary was fourth. Flammarion showed the way along the back, closely followed by Kelly, Sir Nigel, King Musk and Scotland. The order was practically the same at the turn when Kelly took command and held op well to stave off a challenge by King Musk, winning with something in reserve. Respectful was half a length back third. King Rey was fourth. Length; half a length. Time, Im 38s. CAUTLEY HANDICAP. Of £2OO.
