FLOODING AT VENICE
MUCH DAMAGE TO BUILDINGS. COLLAPSE OF OLD HOUSES. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Venice, Nov. 8. Exceptional tidal floods are causing great damage and gondolas are carrying the populace over St. Mark’s Square. Several towers and old houses have collapsed and marble decorations on a number of palaces are dropping off. The damage is serious, as it follows extensive undermining of foundations of palaces from the effects of motor-boat traffic. The populace is hastily moving furniture to the upper floors. .
