USE OF WAR FUNDS
AID FOR RETURNED SOLDIERS. NOTICE. TO INTRODUCE BILL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 10. Mr. J. A. Lee in the House of Representatives this morning gave notice of intention to introduce a- Bill to empower the Minister of Defence to insist on the New Zealand War Funds Council, the New Zealand Red Cross and the Canteens Fund to distribute a greater proportion of their funds for the relief of distress among returned soldiers. The House adjourned till the ringing of the bells to permit a discussion between the managers of the House of Representatives and the Legislative Council about a clause of the Local Legislation Bill regarding a legacy left the Hastings Hospital. When the House resumed the Hon. J. A. Young reported an agreement h.ad been reached between the managers of the respective Houses.
