WESTERN PARK’S STAND EWART’S INVALUABLE INNINGS. SCHOOL LOSES GRIP ON GAME. I Opening its attack against Western Park with 358 runs scored on the first day to rely on, High School had the Park team half dismissed fox 24. Then J. Carroll and A. Ewart joined in a seventh wicket partnership for 104, Ewart going on to make 63 for the ninth wicket with Duff. Western Park totalled 205 and in a second innings that had no bearing' on the result School lost six wickets for 36. The early Park wickets fell like ninepins to Urry and Larkin, Urry taking four for 18 in his first four overs. E. Spedding was the only one to score off him. When Wilson left there were six down for 28. Carroll and Ewart had no respect for the 'bowling and when Carroll left, bowled by Donnelly, he had scored 58, including seven fours, and the partnership had put on 104 in an hour. Ewart played till five minutes before the end, being caught by Weston w his score at 85, including ten fours. School tried eight bowlers, Donnelly being the most successful after Urry and Larkin’s purple patch earlier. In School’s second ii-iings Donnelly was out to Ewart fourth ball.
