DISAPPROVAL OF LOTTERY
COMMISSION IN NEWFOUNDLAND. LEGISLATIVE ACTION THREATENED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. St. John’s, Sept. 10. The Commission Government has disapproved of the plans laid before it by the St. John’s Municipal Council to supply funds for charity and civic improvements by a lottery. The Commission Government, threatened legislative action to prohibit such a course if necessary.
