EGMONT VILLAGE NEWS
EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE. The last of a series of fortnightly euchre parties and dances conducted by the committee of the Egmont Village hall was held on Tuesday evening. Despite the rough weather, there was a good attendance, including visitors from Kaimiro, Kent Road, Mangamahoe and Inglewood. Nine tables were engaged in play. Prizes for euchre were won by Miss Barnes and Miss M. Morton, and Messrs. N.’Gyde and E. Messenger. Music for the dances Was played by the Maori String Band, vzith extras by Miss Patterson, Kaimiro. Mr. J. Dryden was master of ceremonies. Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Miss Dulcie Guilford and Mr. S. Dodunski and Miss Phyllis Reeve and Mr. N. Bowen. Miss Hunter gave several humorous and dramatic I’ecitations. Supper was served by members of the hall committee. An enjoyable afternoon was spent at the house of Mrs. Gordon Marsh on Wednesday. Spring, bulbs in the garden were admired by the visitors. Those present included Mesdames Meuli, A. Morton, Murphy, J. C. Morton, Tebbutt, J. Adamson, Barnes, senr., Dryden, G. Barnes J.
