RAHOTU LUNCHEON PARTY
SOCIAL AND PERSONAL NEWS. Mrs. Wright was hostess at luncheon the other morning and the tables wdrfe decorated ' Wth Spring flowers. After lunch the flower gardens and walks were admired in the cool, clear mountain air. This was another effort for the Rahotu candidate in the “Mayoral” contest. On Wednesday evening a few friends paid a visit to Mrs. W. Buttle in honour of the 25th anniversary of her wedding and her birthday. Flag five-hundred was played. Mesdames H. Clarke, president, C. W. Green, vice-president, C. Looney (secretary), Mrs. E. Poole, Rahotu. attended the Opunake Plunket Society’s annual meeting. On Wednesday evening a big number attended at the vestry where games were played, Mrs. C. Field and Mrs. K. Andrews being hostesses. Mr. R. Morgan has gone for a holiday to Auckland. . Mrs. W. R. Wright,, senr.. is ill in bed at Mrs, John Stevenson’s home at Pihama.
A flag five-hundred tournament was held on Saturday night in the supper room of the hall ,in aid Of the croquet lawns. The winners were Mesdames Ifider and Lowry, Messrs. IndCt and Fepperil. Consolation prizes were given to Mesdames Hawkes and Castles and Misses H. and E. Clarke.
