TARANAKI BOXING TITLES

INCREASE IN NOMINATIONS. A large number of late nominations has been received for the Taranaki amateur boxing championships at Patea tonight, many of which are from those resident or working some distance from the association's sponsoring them. The increase has necessitated a revision of the programme and a tournament of about 30 bouts is to commence at 7 p.m. Mr. L. Hunt will make the introductions and Mr. R. W. Haddow will referee. It is probable that the judges will include Messrs. Nelson (Stratford), Pruden (New Plymouth) and Simon (Hawera). The championship certificates will be presented by the Mayor, after which the contestants will be the guests of the association at supper. The list of nominations is:— Paper: Freeman, A. Gordon, G.
