VALUABLE DOCUMENTS LOST
IMPORTANT ADMIRALTY SECRETS.
REDISCOVERY AFTER A SEARCH.
Bj Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Aug. 3.
Highly important Admiralty documents relating to the trials of new guns and ships disappeared from a train bound from Waterloo to Portsmouth. The papers were in a box in the guard s van in the custody of an Admiralty messenger, accompanied by a superintendent and overseer. A widespread search resulted in the recovery of the documents later, which, owing to the accidental detachment of the address label, were returned to the place of origin.
