RAHOTU ODDFELLOWS
SUCCESSFUL DANCE HELD. There was a large attendance at the Loyal Rahotu Lodge of the M.U.1.0.0.F. dance on Wednesday night. . Visitors were present from coastal districts, Opunake, Okato and Manaia Lodges being well represented. N.G. Bro. H. Gilhooley welcomed the visitors and D.D. G.M. Bro. Sherson responded, stressing the benefits of the lodge and thanking Rahotu Lodge for a pleasant evening. Music was supplied by Vinsen’s orchestra. Mr. R. Norgate played extras and Mr. R. Pickett was master of ceremonies. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss D. McGregor and partner, the spot waltz by Miss E. Penwarden and partner, and the second Monte Carlo by Miss E. Clarke and partner. Supper was provided by the social committee. On Thursday night the quarterly meeting of the lodge took place. Grand Bro. H. Gilhooley presided over a fair attendance. One candidate was ballotted. for. Loyal Okato Lodge sent a challenge for a ping pong match to be played shortly. Arrangements and practice will take place next meeting. The social committee was congratulated on the success of the dance. After the meeting Sisters T. Renton, R. Pickett, E. Penwarden and P. Waswo provided supper.
