MANGAEHU FARMERS’ UNION
ANNUAL MEETING OF BRANCH. ADMISSION OF JUNIOR MEMBERS. The annual meeting of the Mangaehu branch of the Farmers’ Union was held on Thursday night. Mr. J. B. Norris presided, owing to the unavoidable absence of the president, Mr. L. Bunn. The attendance was good. The balance sheet showed a credit of £7 7s lOd. Membership had been increased slightly by the organiser and now stood at 25. A motion of sympathy was accofded relatives of the late Mr. T. Godkin. Mr. Norris spoke of the sterling qualities of the late Mr. Godkin. Mr. J. Jacobsen raised the question of junior members and a resolution that junior members be enrolled at a fee of 2s 6d was carried. Tire election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr. J. B. Norris; vice presidents, Messrs. J. Jacobsen and F. Gatton; secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. Corry; auditor, Mr. R. Ure; delegates to the provincial conference, Messrs. J. B. Norris and R. Corry. The meeting was then addressed by Messrs. H. E. Blyde, provincial president, and T. T. Murray, sub-provincial president.
