PERSONAL AND GENERAL ITEMS. The first of a series of fortnightly euchre parties organised by the Urenui Football Club was held in the Urenui hall on Tuesday night. The attendance was good considering the unsettled weather, and the winners were: Mrs. N. Dempster and Mr. A. Gibson. t The second of a series of cribbage evenings under the auspices of the Church of England was' held in the Urenui hall on Wednesday, when there was a fair attendance. The winners were: Mrs. N. Dempster and Mr. G. N. Fuller who replayed with Mr. C. H. Wilson. The prospects of the Urenui Football Club are bright for the coming season. A first and second junior team has been entered for the competitions and both teams are getting in good practise. A friendly game was played during the week-end at Urenui against Lepperton, and resulted in a win for Urenui by 6 points to 3. The greasy conditions and intermittent showers did not allow for combined hackwork, and the game developed into an even forward struggle. Personal. Mr. A. H. Halcombe who has been visiting his daughter, Mrs. H. Carter at Mahoenui has returned. Mrs. R. H. Pigott, Wanganui, who has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs. S A. Managh has returned home. Mrs. R. Gillespie is visiting Christchurch. Mrs. F. Andrews, New Plymouth, who has been the guest of Mrs. R. Andrews has returned. Miss Joyce Newton of the Stratford Public Hospital is spending holidays with her parents.
