FAREWELL TO MINISTER
REV. H. V. UTTING, INGLEWOOD. The Rev. H. V. Utting and Mrs. Utting were farewelled by members of the Inglewood Methodist Church in the MethodiSt Hall on Tuesday night. There were many Visitors present including representatives of other denominations, who all voiced their, regret at the departure of a family so liked. Mr. Utting has been transferred to a charge in the Marlborough district. ilic Speakers included the Rev. R. §. Keenan; captain Lord, Salvation Army, and Messrs W« J. JemiSOfi; Alan Surrey and R. E. Surrey. In reply Mr. Utting said that during his three years ift Inglewood times had been exceptionally hard, but nevertheless his tefm had been enjoyable.. Next year the Inglewood eifcUit WOUld have an easier time financially as the eonnectionai charges had been considerably reduced. He thanked the gathering for the spirit demonstrated. A‘musical and elocutionary programme was submitted by Mesdames Courts, MCKeen, Jemison and Longbottom, Miss McAlroy and Messrs D. McAllister, W. J> Smith and the choir. Golf Meeting. The ladies of the Inglewood Golf Club met on Monday night to elect officers for the year. There were about 20 present and the following Were elected: Club captain, Mrs. Faris; secretary, Miss Morton; committee, Mrs. Torrens, Miss M. MortOn and Miss E. McAllum.
