GENERAL AND PERSONAL NEWS. Thd, proposal that a bowling dub bo formed was carried at a meeting at Waitotara on Wednesday. The following committee with power to add Was elected: Messrs F. Train (chairman), T. E. Wilson, E. W. Lefe, H. D. Forsyth, W. G. MeKfiight, Gr. Richardson, W. A. Hurley and I. R. Blackie (secretary,) A meeting convened by Mrs. G. Clifton was held on Wednesday to form a library committee. The following officers were appointed: President, Mrs. E. Lee; vice-president, Mrs. Mackintosh; committee, Mesdames Smith, W. Hurley, Hooper, Warner, Sheehy, Mr. Wilson} secretary, Mrs. G. Clifton; librarians, Mesdames Sheehy and Smith. Books already in possession affe to be catalogued and reconditioned and additions.to be made of new books.

■ A dance Mid by the Arcadian drehes* tra, Wafiganui, proved Successful. Modern and old-time dancing was held. The wihrers of a lucky spot dance were Miss Truelove and Mr. M. O’Connor, and of a Monte'Carlo Mr. S. Mitchell and partner. Mf. and Mrs. W.’Seamark, accompanied by Miss Zena Wall, spend the week-end at New Plymouth. . Mrs. Death i§ the guest Of her N. Death, Huftterville. Miss Jenkinson, spent the week-end at Wanganui. Miss Harker is the guest of Mrs. J. Laird, Waitotara. Mr. and Mrs. Jones, Wellington, are the guestS of Mr. and Mrs. G. McConachy. Mr. and Mrs. P. Harting spent the week-end at Feilding. Miss F. Johansen; Palmerston NOHh, is visiting her sister, Mrs. W. Dobie, Nukumaru.
