NO LIFE-SAVING CONFERENCE
LACK OF DELEGATES THE CAUSE. SALTWATER DIPLOMA OPPOSED. By Telegraph—Press. Association. Christchurch, Match. 29. At a meeting of the New Zealand Life-SaVing Society Council, the Secretary of the Auckland head-centre notified that owing to the lack of delegates it had been impossible to hold the proposed life-saving conference; A suggestion Was made that the conference be held at Wellington. ■ The central executive, London, notified that it was proposed to make provision for a saltwater diploma to be available to those whose inability to float precluded them from taking the award in fresh Water.
It was decided to oppose the proposal. It was notified that a representative of the Central executive would Visit New Zealand next swimming season.
