Rec. 5.5 pan. Rugby, March 5. There were approximately 9,941,000 insured persons aged from 16 to 64 in. employment in Britain on February 19. This was 67,000 more than a month before and 625,000 more than a year before. Industries showing the greatest improvement during the past month were building and public works contracting, tailoring, boot and shoe manufacture' and. pottery manufacture. There was also some improvement in the iron and steel, engineering and motor vehicle industries and shipping service. The numbers of unemployed persons on the registers of the employment exchanges in Britain on February 19 were 1,881,532 wholly unemployed, 340,897 temporarily stopped and 95,480 normally in casual employment The total was 71,159 less than the number on registers at January 22, and 538,729 less than a year before. The total on February 19, 193'4, comprised 1,883,782 men, 58,368 boys, 328,146 women and 47,613 girls. \
