SENSATIONAL SHOOTING AFFRAY.
REVENGE FOR SEVERED EAR.
By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 9.5 p.m. Brisbane, March 6. A sensational shooting affair at Innisfail was witnessed by crowds of people to-day. An Italian, Nicoli Mamomi, aged 35, a storekeeper of Mourilyan, was shot dead. His assailant, a foreigner, emptied the six chambers of his revolver into his victim’s body at short range, and afterwards quietly surrendered. Two local police who were nearby witnessed the whole affair. The arrested man told the police that his ear had been severed a short time ago during an altercation with Mamomi.
