dobie-johansen. The wedding was solemnised at Cuba street Methodist Chureh, Palmerston North, on February 20 of Alma, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Johansen, to William Clark Ppbie, Waitotara. The minister was the Rev. T. Richards. Miss Simmonds presided at the organ. The church was decorated for the occasion with St. Joseph’s lilies and gypsophilia. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of white ring velvet, the shirred bodice having tong sleeves and the skirt forming a train. Her embroidered tulle veil was arranged cap fashion and wreathed with orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of white gladioli, pink carnations and maidenhair fern. In attendance on the bride were Miss Freda Johansen (sister) and Miss Eva Parkinson, Waitotara. The bridesmaids were similarly frocked in apple green and gold ring velvet respectively. They wore headbands finished with a bow and carried sheafs of red and gold gladioli and maidenhair fern. Mr. P. Tennant, Waitotara, was best man and Mr. N. Johansen, brother of the bride, was groomsman. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a decorated horseshoe. On the evening of February 28 St Andrew’s' Presbyterian Church, New Plymouth, was the scene of a wedding between Dulcie Alice, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W- Vincent, Lismore Street, Fitzroy, and Colin James, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Henry, Frankley Road. The service, which was fully choral, was conducted by the Rev. J. D. Met,. Wilson. Mr. W. L. Miss Nancy Henry, sister of the .bridegroom, was bridesmaid, her . frock ,of floral green petalchine being matched by a head bandeau of leaves. Beth Hunt,, niece ,of the bride, made a charming flower girl in a pale green satin frock in Kate Greenaway style. She wore a band of plaited ribbon and' carried a basket of pink begonias. The bridegroom was supported by his brother, Mr, Philip Henry, as best man and Mr. Walter Vincent, as groomsman, Mr.- and Mrs. Vincent received their guests at a reception at the Mon Ddsir. Mr?. Vincent wore a frock of wine crepe trimmed with lemon with a hat to match and carried a bouquet of begonias in shades to tone. Mrs. Henry, mother of the wore a black ensemble with black and white hat, and carried a bouquet of scarlet begonias. The bouquets were made by Mr. Walter Vincent and Mrs. Clow (bridal bouquet). The bride and bridegroom stood under a large wedding bell to receive good wishes. Afterwards the usual toasts were drunk with musical honours. After the breakfast the guests remained to a party, dance music being provided by the Troubadors’ Orchestra. Later the newly-married couple called to say farewell, Mrs. Henry wearing a white marocain frock, white shoes, red coat and white felt hat, with gloves and stockings to match. Mr. and Mrs. Henry left on a honeymoon tour of the North Island.
