PLEASED WITH MT. COOK
DR. WILLIAMS’ IMPRESSIONS. HAS SEEN ALL GREAT MOUNTAINS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Dr. Walter Williams, president of the World’s Press Congress, returned to Wellington yesterday from the South Island and proceeded to-day to Tongariro, Wairakei, Rotorua and Auckland. He will leave by the Monterey on Saturday for Los Angeles. Dr. Williams was enthusiastic over Mount Cook, which he saw in all its glory under a fresh fall of snow. “I have seen all the great mountains of the world and I can say that it is worth coming round the world to see Mount Cook,” he said. “It surpasses anthing I have seen before in Switzerland and the Andes and anything we have in America and Canada.” Dr. Williams is taking copies of New Zealand papers with him to show students of Missouri University, of which he is president. He said it was his intention to return to New Zealand in about a year to see things he has missed this time.
