DEEP-SEA ANGLER’S DEATH
COLLAPSE WHILE PLAYING FISH. MATAMATA MAN ON EAST COAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Tauranga, Last Night. Collapsing while fishing at Mayor Island on Sunday morning, Mr. William Williamson Livingstone, Matamata, died immediately. Mr. Livingstone, who hooked a swordfish, played it for ten minutes and complained of a pain in his chest. He asked a friend, Mr. C. B. Daveny, Morrinsville, to take the rod and as he was handing it over collapsed. The party proceeded to the island, where Dr. Wallis, Rotorua, pronounced life extinct. Mr. Livingstone, who was aged 69, was a well-known deer stalker and angler. He was a director of the Farmers’ Cooperative Auctioneering Company. He is survived by Mrs. Livingstone.
