BOY DROWNED IN WAIKATO
CANOE OVERTURNS IN RIVER. COMPANION REACHES SHORE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hamilton, Last Night. John Sibley, aged 16, was drowned in the Waikato at mid-day when a canoe overturned. He and a companion, Edward Branning, clung to the canoe but the boy apparently had to let go his hold because of exhaustion. His companion reached the bank safely.
