REVERSE FOR LANG PARTY

UNITY PROPOSALS REJECTED. AUSTRALIAN WORKERS’ DECISION. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Feb. 7. The Herald says that the plans of the Lang Labour supporters to enlist the support of the Australian Workers’ Union to achieve unity on their own terms received a severe check when delegates to the Australian Workers’ Union convention refused to accept the proposals for the re-affiliation of the State branch of the union with the Lang Labour Party. A reverse decision, it was stated, would have practically ensured the success of the unity proposals of the Victorian Labour Party, which are said to have been designed to give the Lang group control of'the Australian Labour Party, thus enabling Mr. J. T. Lang to assume the Federal leadership.
