Martin, carrier, Fitzroy, a four-seater car driven by Mrs. Kathleen Mary Boswell, with Mr. Alfred Clive Bbswell, storekeeper,. Hobson Street, New Plymouth, as passenger, was carried a dozen yards, ending up on its hood at right angles to its course. The accident took place at the corner of Devon Road and Normanby Street, Fitzroy, shortly after six o’clock on Saturday evening. . Mrs. Boswell suffered abrasions to her knees and severe shock while Mr. Boswell was bruised on the right leg below the knee. The car was considerably damaged. But for the fact that the driver’s win-, dow of the car was down the results might have been more serious. The window glass was shattered, but neither occupant was cut. The car was proceeding along Devon Road to the Waiwakaiho bridge when the lorry came round the corner of Normanby Street, which is- obscured to 'some extent by a bank, meeting the car amidships. The car skidded across the road to the footpath, where' it turned over, oil and benzine flowing on to the road. The bonnet of the car pointed, at the finish, up Normanby Street. The occupants, who were huddled in the front seat, were released by passers-by and taken to the home of Mr. A. C. W. Bellringer nearby. Dr. Pemberton was summoned to their aid.
Although still suffering from shock, Mrs. Boswell was much bettei - yesterday. I ■
