NEW ZEALAND WHEAT YIELD

DECREASE FROM LAST YEAR’S. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Jan. 26. The New Zealand wheat yield for the 1934 season is estimated to be about 8,500,000 bushels, according to calculations made from returns collected by circular by the United Wheatgrowers’ Association. Working from a basis of known acreage, this season the average yield will be a shade less than 29 bushels an acre. Last year the average yield was 36.54 bushels, a figure which has been exceeded only twice in 65 years.
