RAILWAY REVENUE RISES
£200,000 IMPROVED SINCE APRIL. HOLIDAY PERIOD TRAFFIC. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Jan. 21. The chairman of the Railways Board, Mr. H. H. Sterling, announces that for the four-weekly period to January 6 the revenue increase was £55,310 «compared with the corresponding period last year. Expenditure showed an increase of £5038, resulting in an increase in the nett revenue of £50,272. For the portion of the financial year from April 1 to January 6 the revenue showed an increase of £164,241 and expenditure a decrease of £39,082, resulting in an increase in the nett revenue of £203,323.
