PRINCE VISITS BRADFORD
GREAT CROWDS WELCOME HIM.
INCREASE IN EMPLOYMENT.
British Official Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Dee. 15. The Prince of Wales concluded his three days’ tour of Yorkshire at Bradford, which suffered heavily during the severest phase of the degression. He learned with keen satisfaction that the number of local unemployed had fallen from 36,000 in 1931 to fewer than 14,000. At the occupational centre at Morley the Prince worked a hand loom and was presented with a scarf. Although the Prince’s visit was informal great crowds gathered to welcome him.
