TENNIS CLUB MEETING. The annual meeting of the Tariki Tennis Club was held on Monday night. The president, Mr. T. Wright, presided over a good attendance. The president thanked Messrs. J. Trass and H. Humphries for work done on the courts during the year. Reference was also made to the good work, of the secretary, Miss L. Hucker.' The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. T. Wright; vice-president, J. Trass; secretary and treasurer, Miss L. Hucker; management committee, Messrs. T. Wright, J. Trass, L, Duncan, W. Young, Misses M. James, J. Young and L. Hucker; club captain, Mr. W. Crowe; vice-captain, Mr. E. Knowles; selector, Miss Hucker; social committee, the same as last year. > It was decided to write to the Tariki Dairy Company asking permission to use the roadway to the courts:, and to erect a signboard. Button holders for the season are Mrs. L. Loveridge and H. Humphries. Button fees are to be the same as last year. The ladder holders are Miss L. Hucker and D. Therkleson. Opening day is to be Tuesday, October 10. Members are to pay their own travelling expenses. A working bee is to be held at the weekend. It was decided that planting of shelter trees be left to the executive committee. The fixing of wire netting is to be left in the hands of Mr. W. Young. Hall Committee Meeting. The annual meeting of the Tariki hall committee was held on Thursday, there being a fair attendance. The chairman (Mr. G. B. Knowles) in moving the adoption of the balance-sheet congratulated the committee on the year s workings. A vote of thanks carried by acclamation was accorded Mr. and Mrs. Gush for organising the opening dance, and to Mr. H. Rumball for liis advice on the remodelling of the hall. The committee, Messrs. G. B. Knowles, L. Loveridge. T. Wright, M. J. Cassidy, E. Mahon, K. Butler and W. W. Blair was re-elected. The secretary was voted an honorarium of £2 2s.
