MRS. GRANT WINS GOLF MATCH. The ladies of the Inglewood Golf Club on Saturday played a match against bogey, when despite the unpleasant weather some very good cards were returned. Mrs. Grant, 1 up on bogey, was the winner, while other good cards were Mrs. Torrens 1 down and Miss J. Morton 2 down. Mrs. Grant has reduced her handicap to 9, and Miss J. Morton to 21. Cycle Handicaps. The following handicaps have been declared for the Inglewood Cycle Club’s road race on Thursday. The race will be to Ngaere and back, a distance of approximately 40 miles: C. Every effort is being made by teachers and pupils to make this year’s Inglewood school concert, to be held on Thursday night, an outstanding - "success. There will be items to suit all tastes. Humorous plays and sketches presented by the senior and intermediate pupils will show what can be done with much painstaking. There is to be the “Jumble Sale,” the “Wedding,” a “London Street Sketch,” and a “Play Without Words," besides catchy choruses, drill display, folk dances and perhaps most popular of all, several numbers by the tiny tots. A specialty is being made of the dressing and lighting effects. As the programme is a lengthy one the overture will be at 7.30.
