PIHAMA DISTRICT NEWS
AN UNDEFEATED TEAM. RECORD OF LADIES’ HOCKEY SIDE. The Pihama ladies’ hockey team defeated Oeo at Oeo on Friday by two goals to one in the final competition game. The victory was a fitting finish to a fine season’s record. In ten games, the team has won nine and drawn one, suffering no defeats. It has scored 35 goals and only two have been registered against it. In the competition it has 19 points. Friday’s game was an even one. Miss M. Congalen scored Pihama’s two goals, Miss A. Forsyth netting Oeo’s goal. Euchre and Dance. The Church of England, Pihama circuit, held a successful euchre and dance party in the hall on Friday evening. The prizewinners were Mrs. W. Conaglen, Mrs. Atkins, and Messrs. A. J. Clarke and E. Edwards, the latter after a re-play with Mr. L. Forsyth. Four ladies played off for the mystery prize. Miss V. Hall,was the winner. Mr.. J. Moreland won the men’s mystery prize. Consolation prizes went to Miss Jean Fosyth and Mr. Masson. . A social held on Thursday evening by members of the Pihama Bible class in the hall was well attended. There were visitors from Hawera and Okaiawa. Personal Mr. J. Hall is seriously ill, Miss A. Smith’s condition is improved.
