RESULT OF CRIBBAGE TOURNEY. The second progressive tourney arranged by the Rawhitiroa Cribbage Club was held on Thursday evening and drew a good attendance. Messrs. S. Ford and G. V. Thame, 9 games, shared the prize. Supper was served by the social committee, assisted by Mesdames M., O’Connor and S. Martin. Mr. W. P. Jenkins was master of ceremonies. Progress of Boxing. •• At a meeting of the boxing club committee last week, Mr. W. P. Jenkins was elected a vice-president; Messrs. R. J. Reid, L. Robinson and J. Gernhoefer were appointed a controlling committee. Tuesday and Friday were selected as practice nights. The annual subscription was fixed at two shillings. Personal Items. Mrs. J. Cocker left for Wellington on Monday to attend the annual conference of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Mr. and Mrs. W.‘J. Johnston, Turakina, have taken up residence in Rawhitiroa. Mangamingi Defeated. •• Members of the Rawhitiroa Golf Club defeated Mfingamingi in a friendly match played on the local links on Thursday. A match has been arranged against Mangatoki, and the return game with Mangamingi will take place shortly. During the week-ends, medal rounds are being played for the Knuckey Cup, presented by the president, Mr. R. JKnuckey. It will be awarded to the player with the best aggregate for three rounds, played under match conditions. In addition, a further prize will be given for the lowest net round
