At a meeting of the executive of the Taranaki Boxing Association last night ■ D final arrangements were made for the /' amateur tournament to be held on Sat- ' urday evening in the Empire Theatre, ' New Plymouth. Excellent nominations. • i ,7 were received from amateurs all over the province, including a New Zealand champion and runner-up, and a programme of 15 contests was . arranged. •_ It was decided to make one charge to any part of the house. ' A letter was received from the Hawera Boxing Association suggesting that a ’’ conference of the Taranaki associations < •-.£ should be held to discuss the arrange- - h ' ments for Taranaki representation et the New Zealand ’ championship meeting : to be held at Blenheim in September. It was resolved to approve .of the proposal and to suggest that the conference be held at New Plymouth on Saturday : evening on the occasion of the amateur tournament. * , There were present Messrs.
