TENNIS CLUB ENTERTAINS. The Ratapiko Tennis Club held the fourth of a series of five euchre parties and dances in the hall on Thursday night A large number of players took part in the card tournament, which was under the control of Mr. J. - Lepper. The winners were Miss Jean' Young L Miss Dot Hill 2, Mr. Ben Dodunski L Mr. Frank Lawrence 2. The position on the ladder for the aggregate prize is creating considerable interest. In the ladies’ section, only two points separate the four leaders and in the men’s section, the three top players have the same number of games to their credit The dance music was played by Mr. and Mrs. Hall and Mr. Gannaway, the extras being played by Mr. E. Karalus and Mr. D. Therkleson. Mr. Gordoq Linklater was master of ceremonies. -• PERSONAL PARAGRAPHS. Mrs. O. D. James left on Saturday morning on a visit to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Willana and Mrs. B. Dust motored to Wanganui on Wednesday. , , Mrs. D. Mannix spent the week-ena with relatives at Hawera. ' Mr. and Mrs. J. Wells and Mr. Bill Weils left on Sunday morning for AuckMr. S. Adlam has returned from a holiday in the Te Kuiti district Mr. T. Eversfield is visiting friends at New Plymouth. Mr. Joe Moratti is staying Mr. and Mrs- Jim Moratti at Ratapiko. A meeting of the Farmers’ Union on Monday night was addressed by Mr. V. C. Davies, New Plymouth, on tree planting.
