SUCCESSFUL EUCHRE PARTY. — ' i Twenty tables of players took pari in the euchre party held at Mata on Friday. The ladies’ prizes were won by Mrs Morris (Eltham) 1, and Mrs. J. Campbell (Rawhitiroa) 2, after re-play with Miss Sylvia Williams. The men’s prizes went to Mr. B. Martin 1, and Mr. J. Oldfield 2, after a re-play for first place. Miss Sylvia Williams sang two songs. Monte Carlo dances were won>by Miss Maisie Williams and Mr. R. Young and Miss I. Oldfield and. Mr. H. Martin. Music -for the dance was supplied by Miss R. Old. Mrs. Druce and Mr. McDonald played extras. Mr. R. Trolove and Mr. Basil 'Campbell were masters of ceremonies. The next euchre will finish the points series. Messrs. Basil Campbell and Ray Druce in a pig-hunting expedition at Kohuratahi secured 20 pigs Mr. and Mrs. P. Bull and family have returned. Mr. John McGinley has been in New Plymouth. Messrs. T. Todd and L. Willy are on holiday at Wellington. Miss G. Hall, Auroa, Is the guest of ’Mrs. C. Slater. Misses Ske’dgwell and F. Kovaleski (Tuna) are the guests of Mrs. Kingan. - The monthly Presbyterian service held in the Mata hall on Sunday afternoon was conducted by the Rev. J. A. Rveburn, Eltham.
