HOPELANDS JERSEYS.

' MR. C. WELLS’ STOCK. For type, quality, development and breeding the six heifers entered by Mr., C. Wells, Warea, constitute one of the finest lines to be offered at the Jersey Club’s annual female sale next Tuesday. As is shown in the catalogue Mr. Wells has in introducing new blood to his herd been very particular in his selection. Four of the six heifers are by Prince Oxford Channing, a grandson of two outstanding sires, Clarion (imp.), CJ3JB. and Brampton’s Merry Boy (imp.). He is also a son of Oaklands Viscountess (C.OJL 5601b' fat -as junior two-year-old) who comes from one of the greatest breeding lines of the well known breeder Mr. Fred Cornwall, and is sired by Sybil’s Oxford Noble, who has to his credit five C.O.R? daughters and two Bronze Medallists, Oaklands Buttercup (6121 b fat) and Rydal Gipsy (6101 b fat). .. . The other heifers offered are by King of .the Greens and Golden Maple, both of which come from good producing strains. Golden Maple, the sire of Hopelands Aster (lot 37) is sired by 1 a particularly good hreeding bull, Marshlands Masterpiece, winner of twenty-two championships and reserves, and who has eleven C.O.R. daughters. HO is of famous Twylisfe blood, and son of Zinokin C.O.R. (6411 b fat as a three-year-old). ■ Those who have been privileged to inspect Hopelands , herd know the class of r stock it comprises. The lots offered we no exception. They are in good condition, and are being sold only because Ms. Wells has at present mord stock than ha requires.
