R.S.A. EUCHRE AND COON CAN.' A euchre and coon-can tournament was held by the Opunake R.S.A. in the town hall on Wednesday. The prize-winners of the euchre were Mrs. D. Thomas 1, Mrs. A. R. Elgar 2; Mr. L. Loveridge 1, Mr. H. Gilshnan 2. The coon-can winners were: Mr. R. Peat 1, Mr. H. Young 2. A committee consisting of Mesdames T. N. Watt, A. R. Elgar, R. Julian, J. S. Hickey, K. McNae and J. S. Tosland served supper. The Opunake team for the Tabor Shield will be P. Smith (capt.), A. Sinclair, J. Clouston, L. Brown, J. Greech, G. Trotter, B. S. Dudley and G. Cundy. The Opunake team for the Taranaki Pen-, nant (fixed positions) will be J. Woolford (captain and reel), D. Pennington (support), G. Webb (belt), J. Connor (2nd line), N. Trye (Ist line), L. Watt (3rd line and resuscitator), J. Feaver (patient).
