COLOMBIA-PERU DISPUTE
CAPTURE OF TARAPACA REPORTED.
GUNBOAT BOMBED FROM AIR.
By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright, Bogota, Feb, 15.
The Colombian Foreign Office personnel to-day handed../their passports to the Peruvian Legation. It was unofficially reported that Colombian troops this morning captured the city of Tarapaca, on the Putumayo River, in the vicinity of the city of Leticia, over which the countries have been in dispute since September. The aerial bombardment of a Colombia gunboat in the Putumayo River and the recapture by the Colombians of Tarapaca fanned into open warfare hostilities which have been smouldering for months.
