RUSH MADE FOR PETROL
MOTORISTS “GET IN EARLY.” . Retailers of petrol experienced on Friday a demand for petrol that has not been experienced for a long time, and late at night benzine was still being sold in large lots to motorists who wanted as much as possible before the extra tax sent the prices soaring. Many were the purchasers who, besides having the tanks of their cars filled, brought drums to be filled. In some cases firms and travellers who use large quantities at any time, placed orders for as much as they could get.
