Woodhouse and Messrs. Penny and Bert "Jones, through Taranaki has just been concluded. The tourists negotiated the formidable Waituariga Road to the coast which they followed to Opunake. Thence they turned inland and returned via .Manaia, Hawera and New Plymouth and back through the Tangarakau Gorge. They visited Pukekura Park among other beauty spots and were' loath to leave it. Mount Egmont was not neglected. and most of the beaches allowed a refreshing swim. Mrs.-Abbott has returned to Kaponga after being the guest of her mother, Mrs. W. T. McKay. - Mr. and Mrs. McHarrie and Miss Aileen McHarrie are spending a few weeks holiday at Mokau. - Miss Wilkinson, New Plymouth, is the guest of Mrs. Craven. Mr. Graham Umbers, Stratford,, is the guest of his grandmother,, Mrs. Loft senr. Mrs. Loft Senr, entertained a party of ladies at her residence on Friday. Among the visitors were Mesdames -Stevenson, Jenks, Allen, Brown, Misses B.Wagstaff, B. Allen, Brown, Jenks (2), Stevenson and Loft (2).

Mrs. .Turnbull entertained at bridge on Friday night. Mr. James Dawson took a large party of young people to the Tongaporutu beach on Sunday. Mr. Harold Ross, who had. a painful motor cycle accident recently, is now convalescent. Messrs. Hay, Alan Williams and Allen motored to Waitara on Sunday. Mr. Hartog and Party, Napier, were visitors to Ohura for the week-end.
