DAMAGE TO FRUIT EXPECTED.
HEAVY GALES AND RAIN.

A strong gale with high seas and heavyrain which has continued over the last 24 hours is still blowing hard. The barometer it low. The water supply is temporarily out of commission. The banana crop will probably be damaged considerably. No reports have been received of any other serious loss.
