EDWARD TARRANT’S APPEAL
PICTON MURDER SENTENCE. SPECIAL SITTING POSSIBLE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Though no official decision has yet been made, there is every likelihood that a special sitting of the Court of Appeal will be arranged early this month lor the hearing of the appeal by Edward Tarrant, who is under sentence of death for the murder of James Flood at Pipton. .. ' . . ■
In view, of the fact that in the ordinary course the Court of Appeal does not meet until March 13, an Order-in-Coun--. cil may be issued to provide for ; a spe-. cial sitting of the Court. Should this sitting not be arranged it would mean that the condemned man would wait in custody for more than three months before consideration could be given to his case. -
