WOMAN LOSES £300 WATCH
U.S.A. TRAVELLER AT AUCKLAND.
DIAMOND-STUDDED PLATINUM. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A platinum wristlet watch studded with diamonds and valued at £3OO was lost in Queen Street this afternoon by Mrs. Dorothy Abel, a through cabin passenger from America to Sydney on the Matson liner Mariposa, which arrived from Los Angeles this morning. Mrs. Abel came ashore about two o’clock, and when leaving the entrance gates of Queen’s wharf she noted the time by the watch. A few minutes later when she was at the comer of Customs Street the watch was missing from her wrist After retracing her steps to the Mariposa Mrs. Abel reported the loss to the police. The watch had not been recovered when the vessel sailed for Sydney this evening.
