HURFORD ROAD GIFT EVENING
A long-night dance was held in the ball on Monday in conjunction with a gift “kitchen evening” given' in honour of Miss Maude Ryan and Mr. Edgar Seamark on the eve of their marriage. _ A large crowd- assembled, all bringing mysterious parcels which soon filled the table set aside for them. After supper Mr. W. Maloney spoke of the high esteem in which the guests were held. The opening of the parcels caused no little amusement, especially when a harmless looking a pack of cards was opened, letting a spring fly out and nearly scaring the opener out of his shoes- Musical honours were accorded Miss "Ryan and Mr. Seamark. Music for the dance was played by Mrs. M. Reynolds, with extras by Miss Mary Sanger and Mr. Ivan PepperilL The master of ceremonies was Mr. D. Lynch.
