INGLEWOOD LADY TEACHERS.
APPRECIATION OF SERVICES. A happy departure from precedent was made by the Inglewood school committee at the school ball on Thursday when the late infant mistress of the school, Miss F. Evans, was presented with a leather handbag as an appreciation of her long and loyal service to the school. Mr. A. Grant in making the presentation wished Miss Evans every success at Moturoa.
The keen interest taken by Misses H. Tarry and P. Partridge in the respective spheres of basketball and life-saving has been largely responsible for the Inglewood school’s splendid record this year. The basketball team won every available trophy, while the life-saving girls were all successful in gaining their elementary proficiency certificates. In recognition of their services these two popular teachers were presented with boxes of fancy stationary at the school on Friday morning. Sybil Grant and Jean Alleman made the presentations on behalf of their fellow pupils.
