HAWERA ITEMS.
Mrs. E. McPhillips, Hunter Street, Ha■wera, accompanied by her son, Mr. Leo McPhillips, Auroa, returned last week from a motor tour to Napier, Wellington and Wanganui. Miss . Daisy Prout, Hawera, gained first place in the intermediate examinations held at the Wanganui Convent A kitchen evening for Miss Barbara Allom was given on Friday evening by Mrs. T. J. Allan and Mrs. E. McLean at “Derwyn”the residence of Mrs. Allan. Miss Allom was the recipient of many beautiful and useful gifts. Those present spent an enjoyable time with dancing, games and competitions,, and after supper Mr. Allan, on behalf of the guests, wished Miss Allom future happiness, Mr. D. Wallace responding.
