In the Sheffield Shield match against Victoria Queensland, who in the first innings made 126, in the second made 74 (Cook not out 36). Ironmonger took seven wickets for 13 runs, FleetwoodSmith one for 40 and Alexander one for 5 Queensland found Ironmonger, owing to his spin and accuracy, unplayable. Few hits were attempted off the veteran bowler,'.Who covered himself with glory. Victoria won by an inning and 139 runs. In the Sheffield Shield match against South Australia at Adelaide New South Wales, having, made 379 in the first innings, in the second lost seven wickets for 86. The overnight batsmen, Oldfield and O’Reilly, obtained the requisite 11 runs to win, although there were thralls in the fifta! seven minutes’ play, Grimmett dropping an easy catch from O’Reilly and Walker almost stumping Oldfield. Wall took four wickets for 32 and Grimmett two for 41. New South Wales won by three wickets.
BRADMAN PERMITTED TO PLAY. MEDICAL EXAMINATION ORDERED. Sydney, Dec. 20. Bradman has been granted permission by the New South Wales Cricket Association to play against Victoria on Friday in the Sheffield Shield match. He must, however, first pass the medical examination.'
